GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF PREMISES
Cricket club ground including terrace and patio. Pavilion compromising a bar & open club room, separate kitchen, toilets (male & female) two changing rooms, cellar, office, store room, umpires room.
We require a premises license as we hold functions throughout the year, regular indoor sporting events (skittles, darts etc) as well as for use by patrons and cricket club members enjoying the facilities on training and match days as players or spectators.
CONDITIONS OFFERED BY APPLICANT ARE SHOWN BELOW:
General
The Club operates as a community-focused venue providing a safe and welcoming environment. The premises are managed by a responsible committee who oversee all aspects of licensing compliance.
All staff and volunteers involved in alcohol service receive training in responsible sales, age verification, and the importance of maintaining a safe, friendly atmosphere.
The Club’s management committee meets regularly to review operations and ensure that activities continue to promote all four licensing objectives under the Licensing Act 2003.
The prevention of crime and disorder
The Club promotes a friendly, family-oriented environment and operates under a clear code of conduct for staff, volunteers, and patrons.
Alcohol is served responsibly by trained staff and volunteers who are instructed to refuse service to anyone who is intoxicated or behaving inappropriately.
An incident and refusals log is maintained to record any instances of disorderly behaviour or refused sales, and these are reviewed by the Club Committee where necessary.
Staff and committee members are briefed to monitor behaviour and intervene early to prevent escalation of any issues.
The Club maintains close cooperation with local authorities, police, and licensing officers and is committed to reporting any incidents or concerns promptly.
Clear signage is displayed reminding patrons that anti-social or aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the premises.
CCTV is active in the bar area with footage available to the police and any other relevant party for a minimum period of 30 days after an incident.
Public safety
The premises are operated in accordance with an up-to-date Fire Risk Assessment and all relevant health and safety regulations.
Emergency exits, escape routes, and safety equipment are regularly checked and maintained in good working order.
Staff and volunteers are trained in emergency and evacuation procedures, and first aid facilities are available on site.
The Club ensures that occupancy levels are managed safely during busy events.
All equipment and facilities are maintained to appropriate safety standards.
The prevention of public nuisance
The Club manages sound levels during social events and music to ensure noise does not cause disturbance to nearby residents.
Doors and windows will be kept closed after 2300 except for access and egress.
Clear notices are displayed requesting patrons to respect neighbours and leave the premises quietly.
Outdoor areas are supervised and managed, with patrons reminded to keep noise to a minimum.
Deliveries, waste disposal, and bottle collection are scheduled to avoid disturbance at unsociable hours.
The Club works constructively with the local community and responds swiftly to any concerns raised.
The protection of children from harm
The Club operates a strict Challenge 25 policy - anyone appearing under 25 must produce approved photo ID before being served alcohol.
Staff and volunteers are trained to identify and refuse service to underage or intoxicated persons.
Children are welcome at the Club when accompanied by a responsible adult but will not be permitted in areas primarily used for alcohol consumption after 2100
The Club provides a safe, family-friendly atmosphere, with appropriate supervision during junior matches, training, and social events.
Soft drinks, non-alcoholic beverages and snacks are always available as alternatives to alcohol.
